Safety notes · evidence over hype

Fatobuy Spreadsheet Buyer Safety Notes

Safety starts with accepting what a row cannot prove. Use photos, measurements, context and current external details to remove weak options early.

FIELD NOTE№ 01

Before saving a row, finish this sentence:

“This one stays because…”
CHECK
THE ROW
Quick answer

The short version

Do not treat a spreadsheet label, converted link or attractive price as verification. Remove rows with conflicting details, unclear destinations, missing measurements or photos that avoid the important areas.

Hype is not evidence

Strong adjectives should make you more curious

Labels such as “best,” “must buy” or “top find” say nothing about measurements, source relevance or current seller information. A useful row can explain itself through details. If the praise is doing all the work, leave it out of the shortlist.

Judging a service

A review should help you ask better questions

Check when the experience happened, which country or route it involved, what kind of item was ordered and whether the writer shows enough account or order context to make the details meaningful. Older experiences may describe policies that have since changed.

Look for patterns across several specific reports, then verify current terms on the exact domain you plan to use. A positive or negative story can reveal what to investigate, but it cannot certify a platform, seller or future order.

Photos should answer questions

More images are not always more information

Look for the areas that could change your decision: soles and heel shape on shoes, seams and measurements on clothing, anchors and interior structure on bags. Repeated front angles do not replace a missing detail.

QC photos can support a comparison, but they do not guarantee that another order, variant or seller outcome will match.

Sizing before popularity

A crowded comment section cannot tell you your measurements

Compare a stated size chart with an item you already own. Note how the measurement was taken and whether the product shape changes the fit. Popularity does not correct a missing chest, inseam or insole length.

Context changes value

Price and shipping weight belong together

A lower row price is not automatically the better decision.

Useful context

Compare the complete picture

  • Similar category and construction
  • Relevant photo coverage
  • Measurements or compatibility
  • Likely item and packing weight
  • Current external details
Weak shortcut

Choose the smallest number

  • Ignore missing measurements
  • Assume photos are current
  • Leave weight until later
  • Treat a source name as approval
  • Rely on a copied description
External links

Check the destination, not the anchor text

Before using a third-party page, confirm the domain, product match, selected option and current policies. A raw link or link converter can change how the URL is presented; it does not validate the destination.

Fatobuy.org links to Findsindex when that is a useful next browsing step. It does not control Findsindex, Fatobuy, Yupoo, Taobao, Weidian, 1688 or their content.

Common decision traps

Organized browsing can still become guesswork

The fix is usually to shrink the batch and return to the missing evidence.

01

Too many tabs

When candidates blur together, close everything except the best three and write why each stayed.

02

Beauty-photo bias

A polished first image should never replace measurements, useful angles or variant details.

03

Unlike comparisons

Products with different intended uses, construction or fit should not compete on price alone.

04

Sunk browsing time

Time already spent on a weak row is not a reason to keep it when a critical detail remains missing.

Remove, pause, recheck

Red flags worth cutting from the list

  • Title, image and destination describe different items.
  • Only promotional images appear where measured or QC photos are needed.
  • Size fields exist but provide no usable measurements.
  • A dramatic price has no comparable context.
  • The row hides behind vague labels and urgency.
  • The external destination looks unrelated or incomplete.
  • Shipping weight is ignored for a dense or bulky item.
  • Support, coupon or refund claims cannot be confirmed officially.
Reset protocol

Recover when the shortlist becomes messy

  • 1Close every tab that cannot answer a named decision question.
  • 2Keep no more than three candidates from the same category and intended use.
  • 3For each one, record what is known, what is assumed and what would cause rejection.
  • 4Continue only if one current source can realistically resolve the remaining uncertainty.
